On loan Aston Villa striker Tammy Abraham has refused to rule out a return to the club following the club's promotion to the Premier League.

Abraham, who scored 26 goals in 40 appearances during a season long loan from Wembley, played the full 90 minutes at Wembley as goals from Anwar El Ghazi and John McGinn earned Dean Smith's side a 2-1 victory over Derby County and a first return to the Premier League in three years.

After the match, Abraham was asked on the pitch by Sky Sports reporter David Craig whether he would be playing for the club next season, with the striker responding by saying: "You can never say never, never say never.

"First of all I've got to enjoy it with the boys tonight, but you can never say never, and we'll see what God has planned for me."

Abraham has three years remaining on his Chelsea contract, and could be set for a senior role at Stamford Bridge next season, with his parent club facing a transfer ban over the next year.

The Telegraph have recently reported that Villa will offer Chelsea £25million for the signing of Abraham if they are promoted to the Premier League, something which they have now secured.

The verdict

This will be a boost for Villa.

Abraham has been a key part of Villa's promotion campaign this season, and they will surely want to keep as much of that squad together for next season, and the 21-year-old striker is included in that.

Decisions will have to be made in the coming weeks once the emotions have died done, but you feel Villa will surely look to bring Abraham back to the Midlands now their place in the Premier League is secure.
