Sky Bet Championship side Aston Villa are preparing a major move for Norwich City’s Republic of Ireland international Robbie Brady, according to The Irish Sun.
The Norwich City midfielder has been attracting attention from the Premier League throughout the season with a number of clubs interested.
However, it could be fellow Championship side Aston Villa that makes a shock £10 million bid for the midfielder in the January transfer window.
Robbie Brady is a player that Steve Bruce knows well as Bruce managed the winger at Hull City who eventually sold the midfielder to Norwich.
As Aston Villa look to build on their resurgent form, the signing of someone of Robbie Brady’s quality would not only enhance their own promotion hopes but at the same time damage Norwich City’s promotion hopes as they continue to be in free fall under Alex Neil.
With the backing of Dr. Tony Xia, Steve Bruce will be hoping that he will have the financial firepower to entice Robbie Brady to switch allegiance from Norwich City to Aston Villa with reports suggesting that Brady could be offered a £50,000-a-week contract.
Although Norwich City will be keen to keep Robbie Brady at the club, this transfer rumour could continue to develop through the winter and into the January transfer window.
