Championship bound Aston Villa are weighing up a move for Bolton Wanderers starlet Zach Clough, according to the Daily Mail.
The diminutive attacking player has attracted a host of attention this season as he has been a star performer in a struggling Bolton side, throughout most of the season.
It is believed Villa’s head of recruitment Paddy Riley watched Clough during Wanderers game with Birmingham City last week.
The academy prospect has scored four goals in his 18 appearances this campaign, and almost completed a move to Bristol City in January after the Robins had a bid in the region of £2m accepted.
With Villa expected to drop in to the Championship after a disastrous season in the Premier League, Clough seemingly fits the mould of someone who Remi Garde will look to add to his squad.
Villa will still have one of the biggest budgets in the league next season, and many pundits are tipping them to add players with Championship experience to their ranks in order to bounce back at the first time of asking.
Bolton on the other hand need a miracle to stay up themselves, with relegation to League One looking more and more likely.
Wanderers currently occupy 23rd position in the Sky Bet Championship, having accumulated 25 points from 34 league games.
