Aston Villa are reportedly lining up a move for Algerian youngster, Mouhamed Belkheir this month according to Foot Mercato.
The French media outlet claim that Dean Smith’s are one of a number of sides chasing the young forward who is considered to be one of the brightest young prospects in European football.
Belkheir started his career coming through the Inter Milan academy system, but made the bold step to move away from the Italian giants in the summer as he moved to Serie B side, Brescia.
It’s been reported that Villa will face stiff competition to land the youngster’s signature with French sides, Caen, Amiens and Strasbourg all interested in securing a deal for Belkheir.
It’s unclear as to whether the 20-year-old would be a regular starter for Aston Villa but they could potentially be in the market for a replacement for Tammy Abraham.
There has been intense speculation linking Villa’s top goalscorer with a move to Wolves after his impressive spell in the Championship with Dean Smith’s side this season.
Belkheir might not be the like-for-like replacement for the on-loan Chelsea man, but if Villa can have patience developing him, then he could play a starring role for Dean Smith’s side in the future.
This would be an interesting transfer it was to happen.
Belkheir is hardly the biggest name that Villa fans would have hoped to have seen arrive at the club this month, but he could be useful addition for the future.
After previously being at Inter Milan, it’s clear to see that he has an exciting future ahead of him, and a move to England could be just what he needs to develop.
