Aston Villa made it three wins a row with an emphatic victory at Burton Albion on Tuesday and new signing Robert Snodgrass praised the impact of the fans.

There hasn't been much to shout about for Villa fans over the years, and this season started in similar fashion.

However, Steve Bruce's men look to have turned a corner now and have recorded back-to-back away wins for the first time in three years.

As well as that, the 4-0 victory at the Pirelli Stadium was the biggest margin for two-and-a-half years.

The Villa fans once again sold their allocation for the game and Snodgrass revealed how much the players thought of them, when speaking to the Birmingham Mail.

They were a different class. They really were outstanding. Amazing.

It felt as though we were at home because they were so loud. Absolutely different class.

It was also a pleasing night from a personal perspective for the Scotland international who grabbed his first goal for the club since joining on loan from West Ham.

Bruce's side return to Villa Park on Saturday when they face bottom-of-the-table Bolton and the recent resurgence should surely mean a positive atmosphere greets the players.

The Verdict

Villa fans have had to suffer a lot over the years but have still travelled in big numbers and supported the team.

Finally, they look to be on the up and it can really boost the players when they make so much noise.

A game against Bolton is up next before Villa will look to extend their brilliant away form when they go to Molineux for what should be a thrilling fixture.
