Aston Villa could be planning a summer move for Bristol City defender Joe Bryan, according to a report in the Sun.

Primarily a left back, Bryan can play in various positions, and has become an integral part of the Bristol City team which has made a surprise run at the Championship playoffs this season under manager Lee Johnson.

Villa meanwhile, put themselves right back in the mix for winning automatic promotion by demolishing Championship leaders and rivals Wolves last night, running out 4-1 winners in the evening kick off, live on Sky.

However, a move for Bryan could well depend on Villa winning promotion, with the club likely to be priced out of a move for the Robins star if they remain in the Championship next term. Promotion to the Premier League meanwhile could alter the situation, with Villa set to receive the riches of the top flight should they snatch second spot.

Bryan will be keen to impress between now and the end of the campaign and should Villa win promotion, he will be hard pressed to turn down a move to Villa Park and prove he can do it in the top flight.

Villa fans, what do you think? Would Bryan be a good signing? Let us know in the comments!
