Aston Villa look well on their way to a playoff spot, and despite the top two looking out of reach now, the Villans and manager Steve Bruce will be confident of getting back into the top flight via the end of season shootout.

The Villans have had to cut back on their spending over the last couple of windows after previously been given something of a blank cheque book by owner Tony Xia, and there is little doubt that unless promotion is achieved, budget signings may well have to be made again.

However, we at FLW think that promotion is a real possibility, and if the club can get themselves back into the Premier League, then they should make a move to snap up Bristol City midfielder come forward, Bobby Reid.

Reid has been in sensational form for the Robins this season after being given more license by manager Lee Johnson to break forward and get in and among the goals. Indeed, Reid has repaid that faith shown in him by Johnson by smashing in 19 goals for playoff chasers.

The 25-year-old looks a class act, and has really grown into one of the key performers in the Championship this season. His form and all round play suggests that he would be more than capable at a higher level, and if Villa can win promotion, then Reid could be an excellent addition to the squad for the Midlanders.

Villa fans, what do you think? Good signing? Let us know!
