According to the Sunday People, Aston Villa are looking into the possibility of signing Brad Jones from Dutch side Feyenoord.

Jones is a very experienced goalkeeper and has spent time at the likes of Liverpool and Middlesbrough in the top flight as well as recording a number of loan spells lower down the leagues.

Since moving to the Netherlands, though, he has perhaps had the best time of his career with him winning the Eredivisie with his current club and proving a consistent stopper between the sticks.

He could, then, provide a great deal of knowledge to Villa if they signed him - regardless of what league they end up in for next season - but that doesn't mean that they should sign the Australian.

Though Jones has had a good time in Holland he is not at the level of Sam Johnstone.

Surely, Villa will be aiming to get him in permanently first of all but if they don't they can still find other goalkeepers of a better suiting to the club than Jones.

At 36, the former Liverpool man doesn't have many years left even as a goalkeeper whilst he's still going to have to prove himself in this country despite the experience he's got and his success for Feyenoord.

It seems a real risk, and one Villa can't afford to try taking.
