According to French journalist Jean-Michel Larque via talkSport, Aston Villa midfielder Jordan Veretout wants to stay at Saint-Etienne beyond the end of this season.
Jean-Michel Larque of French media outlet “SFR Sport’s 91e Minute” revealed that Jordan Veretout is settled at Saint-Etienne and will seek an exit from Aston Villa to stay at the club beyond the expiry of his loan deal.
Veretout’s loan ends at the end of the 2016/17 campaign.
The 23-year-old arrived at Villa Park in the summer of 2015 on a five year deal for an undisclosed fee with high expectations ahead of their Premier League campaign.
However, the former French under-21 international failed to live up to expectations and only managed 25 Premier League appearances for the Villains as they were relegated to the Championship.
Veretout is enjoying his time back in France, plying his trade for Ligue 1 outfit Saint-Etienne and he would rather stay there than return to the West Midlands, according to Larque.
