Aston Villa defender Kortney Hause has expressed his delight at scoring his first goal for the club in last night’s 3-1 win against Nottingham Forest.

It was the club’s third win on the bounce in the Championship but the on loan Wolves man was also keen to maintain a level head going into the final run of fixtures.

Taking to Twitter, Hause wrote: “Delighted to get my first goal in a Villa shirt and more importantly another crucial victory.”

“Saturday we go again.”

Midfielder John McGinn was the hero on the night, levelling things in the seventh minute after Jack Colback had given the hosts the lead.

And the Scot doubled his tally to edge Dean Smith’s side in front just seven minutes later, firing home brilliantly from long range.

Martin O’Neill’s side pushed hard for an equaliser in the second half, but on the hour mark centre-back Hause made the points safe with his first goal for Villa.

The verdict

This will do Hause a world of good.

He had a few shaky performances after moving to Villa Park but over the last few games has started to bed in more and more.

A well taken goal last night will only increase that confidence and strengthen the bond between himself and the fans.
