Aston Villa are in need of a big run of form now if they want to get themselves into the top six race.

They aren't out of it by any stretch, but they do not currently possess the momentum or form you need to try and get into those play-off places.

Indeed, a loss to Dean Smith's former side Brentford last night far from helped matters and the Villans need to dig in and go again as soon as possible.

In the meantime, though, one bit of upbeat news concerns Orjan Nyland with the goalkeeper offering this update on his Instagram account - highlighting the progress he has made in recovery from injury:

He's far from fully fit, but this seems a big step forwards in getting back to full fitness for the club, and that is obviously a good thing.

The Verdict

Nyland was having an okay season up to his injury and when he is back he will want to kick on.

The jury is probably still out on him at the moment, but with Lovre Kalinic in between the sticks, now, he has a target to aim at to get back into the first team himself.
