Garry Monk has a tough job facing him at Birmingham City, with the Blues in deep relegation trouble ahead of the Sky Bet Championship run-in.

Prior to the international break, there were signs that Monk was getting things right at St Andrew’s, with Birmingham recording a 3-0 victory over Hull City.

Despite an impressive victory, Birmingham remained in the Championship’s relegation zone over the course of March’s international break, albeit level on points with Barnsley and on the brink of pulling themselves into a position of safety.

There are eight fixtures of the Championship season remaining, with Monk desperately looking to pull Birmingham to safety so he can rebuild next season.

Monk will have full focus on guiding Birmingham to safety between now and the end of the season, but going forward, changes will have to be made at St Andrew’s.

Stockdale is amongst the Championship’s most experienced goalkeepers and should continue next season for the Blues.

His previous experience could be key to helping Birmingham to more success.

Colin has featured at both right-back and left-back this season for Birmingham, but Monk will want him in his most comfortable position next year.

Monk has worked with Bartley before in his career, with the duo almost guiding Leeds United to the play-offs in 2017.

Should Birmingham survive relegation in the Championship and Swansea City remain a Premier League outfit, we could see Monk looking to reunite with Bartley.

On occasion, this year has been a struggle for Dean at Birmingham, but his previous spell with Brentford shows us how consistent he can be.

Monk should keep faith with Dean ahead of Michael Morrison, and if he can get Bartley in alongside him, they could be a great partnership.

This would be a controversial transfer, but Taylor is out of favour across Birmingham with Aston Villa.

Birmingham are in need of a new left-back and Monk has previous connections with Taylor.

The two crossed paths at Swansea, and although it would be a bold statement to get Taylor across Birmingham, it might be a move he considers.
