On-loan Aston Villa winger Anwar El Ghazi has claimed that he has been approached by a number of Premier League sides, but says his main priority is helping Villa return to the top tier.

El Ghazi has made 33 Championship appearances, scoring five goals and assisting six more during a season long loan spell from French side Lille, but with L'Equipe claiming that the Ligue 1 high flyers do not see El Ghazi as part of their long term plans, it appears that the winger's future could be up in the air come the summer.

It doesn't appear however, that El Ghazi will be short of interest in the summer, and the  24-year-old has told Dutch TV Show VTBL that he has had contact from a number of Premier League clubs, with one of the show's pundits, Andy van der Meyde, advising El Ghazi not to go to his former club, Everton.

The Dutchman did however make it clear that his immediate priority is to help Villa get back to the Premier League, with Dean Smith's side set to face Derby in the Championship play-off final on the 27th May.

The verdict

El Ghazi's performances for Villa appear to suggest that even if he isn't welcomed back at Lille, he will not be out of the game for long, with these claims backing that up.

It now appears as though it will be difficult for Villa to retain El Ghazi's services if they fail to win promotion to the Premier League, adding yet more pressure to their Wembley showdown next week.
