Aston Villa look to beat Middlesbrough to signing of Premier League winger

Aston Villa are looking to beat Middlesbrough to the signing of Everton winger Yannick Bolasie, according to a report from the Birmingham Mail.

The Villans and manager Steve Bruce are looking to add some fresh blood to their squad in the coming weeks, with the window still open for loan deals.

Bolasie is on the periphery of the squad at Goodison Park under new manager Marco Silva following serious injury last term and a loan move to the Championship is looking increasingly more likely, with Middlesbrough also interested in signing the winger.

Villa are hopeful of landing some new players following a summer of turmoil in the window which ultimately ended well with fresh investment and a couple of deadline day captures.

However, Bruce will see more room for improvement in his squad and is now looking to the Premier League to secure some loan deals which he will feel can boost his promotion chasing squad.

With the Premier League season now firmly under way, Villa will have more of an idea which players they can make a move for. Last season saw the club bring in Robert Snodgrass, a player who Bruce remains keen on, along with Bolasie.

Villa fans, what do you think? Would Bolasie be a good fit? Let us know in the comments!
