Aston Villa loanee Keinan Davis has admitted he would accept a permanent move to Nottingham Forest this summer.

The 24-year-old joined Forest on loan for the remainder of the season in the January transfer window and speaking to BirminghamLive, when asked if he'd accept a permanent move to Nottingham in the summer, he had the following response.

“Yeah, of course. This is the best I’ve played and the most I’ve enjoyed my football in my whole entire life, so it’s just great to be here," he said via BirminghamLive.

“Obviously the manager is a big part of it, but the dressing room has also got the right balance of older and young players - like Cookie (Cook), and then young players like myself, Djed (Spence) and Brennan (Johnson).

“It’s just a great mixture. And then the manager lets us express ourselves and be ourselves. We have a bit of banter about that, about loving it here.

“You don’t get many clubs like this, especially in the Championship. They shouldn’t be here.

“For me to get my opportunity to be able to express myself and play good, especially for a team like this, is just more than I could ask for.”

Davis has made 10 appearances for Forest in the Sky Bet Championship since joining in January, scoring four goals in those matches.

The forward has also featured in all three of the club's FA Cup matches, in which they have progressed to the quarter-finals and face Liverpool on Sunday.

Looking ahead to the summer and the potential of a permanent move, Davis expanded the kind of contact he is having with his parent club Aston Villa whilst out on loan.

“I’ve not had any conversations with anyone about what might happen in the summer. I’ve just got to go out there and keep enjoying myself each game," he explained.

“Villa keep in touch with me. After games they message me and say ‘well done’ and say ‘it would be good if you could get Forest into the play-offs, so just keep going’.

“They keep encouraging me.”

The Verdict

Having struggled for appearances and to establish himself at Aston Villa, a loan move to Nottingham Forest in January was perfect for Keinan Davis.

If he is not in Villa's plans going forward, Forest could also be the perfect place to make the move to on a permanent basis this summer.

It is clear Davis is enjoying his time at the City Ground and having scored four in ten in the league, he is doing well on the pitch too.

Given that he said that he would accept the move, and the current pecking order in the striking positions at Aston Villa, this certainly seems one to keep an eye on as the summer approaches.
