Aston Villa are reportedly lining up a bid for Hull City and former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tom Huddlestone, according to the Mirror.
The 28-year-old was a star for Hull in their first season back in the Premier League, and many tipped him for a place in Roy Hodgson’s World Cup squad of 2014, but that never came to fruition.
He’s now a target for Aston Villa and former Spurs boss Tim Sherwood, who had worked with the former Derby County man at White Hart Lane, and is prepared to offer over £5 million for the midfielder.
He faces competition from newly promoted Bournemouth, with Eddie Howe eyeing up English talent as the key to keep the Cherries in the Premier League.
Huddlestone’s huge wages mean that Steve Bruce is looking to ship him out this summer, along with Dame N’Doye, Abel Hernandez and Nickica Jelavic who could all leave, while James Chester and Andy Robertson are attracting interest from clubs in the top-flight.
