Jordan Cousins is a target for a number of Premier League clubs

Tim Sherwood is clearly looking to dip into the Championship talent pool this summer in order to help bolster his squad and stay clear of relegation next year after running near to the trap door during the 2014/15 season.

Cousins was linked with a switch to Newcastle United a few months ago, and they're now joined by Liverpool, but it is Villa who lead the chase.

Arsenal had previously been linked with a move for the versatile player who is known for being a strong, commanding central midfielder and can also operate on the left wing as well as in either full back role.

The 21-year-old has one year left on his contract at the Valley and scored three times last year. He could join fellow youngster Joe Gomez in departing for the Premier League this summer.
