Aston Villa lead Manchester United in race to sign defender

Aston Villa are at the head of the queue to sign in-demand Bury youngster Jacob Bedeau, according to the Bury Times.

Both Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola have been monitoring the 17-year old’s progress at Gigg Lane, however the Villans look very likely to land the highly-rated starlet.

Bedeau is a defender by trade, has also been attracting the likes of Premier League outfits Man City and Man Utd, after showing glimpses of his potential in 7 appearances for the Shakers this term.

The Lancashire club are said to be holding out for a seven-figure fee for the 17-year old, however the report claims that Villa have opened the bidding for the player, with a substantial offer for the talented teen.

Bury sit 20th in the League One table, whereas Villa sit in a more illustrious 13th place in the Championship table, 10 points off the play-off places.

Steve Bruce’s Villa side face Preston North End at Villa Park on Saturday, in what will be a tough match for the Midlands outfit, with Preston in good form under the tutelage of Simon Grayson.

So…What do you think Villa fans? What have you heard of Jacob Bedeau? Would you like to see Villa sign him? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!
