Aston Villa are looking to extend their recent unbeaten run in the Championship to four games this weekend as they face Barnsley.

The Villans have been going along nicely this season and have ensured that they've remained in touch with the all important spots up at the top.

Now, then, they'll be looking to kick on with another win and clean sheet against the Tykes but it is up at the other end where they could improve.

Another striker is certainly needed at the club right now and it would seem that Villa's interest in one from the Premier League has been confirmed - via Sky Sports News on Twitter:

Certainly, this would represent a pretty good step forward for Villa in their aim of getting a new forward and Ulloa would seem like the kind of striker that could fire the club to promotion.

Indeed, he has scored plenty of goals in the Championship before, experienced promotion and knows plenty about the Premier League whilst he also must be itching to play after limited playing time at Leicester recently.

He appears to tick a lot of boxes, then, and a loan deal could certainly work for all involved.

The Verdict

Scott Hogan has said that Steve Bruce does not need a new striker but you feel as though the club still does.

They are short of options up top and Ulloa would majorly fix that - let's see if they can pull it off.
