Aston Villa in tussle with West Ham for Premier League midfielder

Published

on

Steve Bruce is very keen on bringing Liverpool starlet Marko Grujic to Aston Villa in the January transfer window but will face competiton from West Ham United, according to ESPN.

Huddersfield Town, managed by Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp’s close friend David Wagner, are also thought to be in the race for the Serbian’s signature.

However, Liverpool’s decision on where to send the former Red Star Belgrade man will be based on where he is more likely to play regular football and that might swing the balance in Villa’s favour.

Grujic has made 6 senior appearances in all competitions for Liverpool this season, and has not scored in those, while he has also turned out for the Reds’ Under-23 side four times as well.

The Verdict

I am a huge fan of Grujic. I think he should have had more exposure to first team football at Anfield but if Villa get the chance to benefit from that then they should jump at the chance.

He is a classy playmaker who is improving all the time and he could make a big impact in the Championship.
