Brentford striker, Neal Maupay is attracting interest from a number of Premier League clubs, including Sheffield United and Aston Villa according to the Evening Standard.

The Frenchman has been in impressive form of late, and finished the season with 25 league goals in total, just one behind the Championship's top scorer, Teemu Pukki.

The report also claims that Norwich and Brighton are both also interested in signing Maupay, who seems as though he could be destined for a move to the Premier League before the start of next year's campaign.

But Maupay isn't forcing a move through to any of the clubs interested, as he is currently happy with Thomas Frank's side.

The Standard have claimed that if he was to leave Griffin Park, then his preferred destination would be to join a club in the Premier League, despite interest in his services from clubs around Europe.

Aston Villa's interest could be tempting for Maupay, as he is likely to be the first-choice striking option there, as Tammy Abraham has recently returned to Chelsea from his loan spell.

It will be interesting to see if their interest results in a formal bid for Maupay, who will have a big decision to make if offers are made for his services.

The Verdict:

He's destined for the Premier League.

Maupay has already shown that he can score goals on a regular basis in the Championship, so he's a player with real quality that can make the step up to the top-flight.

Villa could be the ideal destination for him, especially with Tammy Abraham returning to Chelsea after his loan spell at Villa Park.
