Aston Villa are ready to sell Conor Hourihane and Jonathan Kodjia this summer, according to The Daily Mail.

The Villans need to sell this summer as they need to raise up to £45m in cash to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations.

This means that several players will be available for transfer so that they can raise this much needed money.

Hourihane and Kodjia have emerged as two surprise candidates for the chop.

Hourihane, who plays as a central midfielder, joined Aston Villa from Barnsley in Janury 2017 and started to establish himself in the first-team last year.

The Republic of Ireland international has played over 50 times for Villa since moving to the West Midlands.

Kodjia will also be allowed to leave.

The 10-cap Ivory Coast international scored 19 goals in his debut season with Aston Villa after joining from Bristol City but only managed one goal last term in an injury blighted campaign.

The 28-year-old will head away from Villa Park if a decent offer comes in for him.

Meanwhile, this report confirms that Stoke City want to sign James Chester for £8m, Tottenham Hotspur are in talks over a move for Jack Grealish and Middlesbrough are chasing Birkir Bjarnason.

The Verdict

There could be a mass exodus at Aston Villa this summer.

Kodjia and Hourihane must be on fairly hefty wages to convince Steve Bruce to axe the pair because they could both play pivotal roles.

If the right offer comes in, they should sell but if not, both are useful players to have in your Championship squad.
