Aston Villa are hoping to have star midfielder Jack Grealish tied down to a new contract by the end of the month.

According to the Daily Mail, Villa’s new billionaire owner Nassef Sawiris is determined to get a new deal over the line, having offered Grealish fresh, improved terms following a summer of interest from Premier League Spurs.

Villa manager Steve Bruce was all set for a miserable transfer window until the new investment, and in the article, commented on his confidence in the new owners to get the Grealish deal sorted.

When he says by the end of the month we will have an agreement with Jack, I believe him’ Bruce commented on his new boss.

Grealish was the star of the show last year for Villa last season as they made the playoff final only to be beaten by Fulham, and Bruce was full of praise for the youngster.

‘We keep hearing about players who don’t want to play – well Jack is knocking on my door at 9:30am and demanding he play at Yeovil’

Bruce has been impressed with Grealish’s attitude in the last few games and keeping hold of the youngster will no doubt have a huge bearing on Villa’s achievements this season.

It remains to be seen whether any new deal for Grealish will see any sort of buyout clause inserted, and it is no doubt something Spurs will be keeping a close eye on.

Villa have enjoyed a good start to the Championship season, winning both their games. The travel to Ipswich this afternoon looking to make it three in three.
