The former Norwich City stopper is being considered as a straight replacement for Shay Given, who is expected to join either fellow Premier League side Stoke City or Championship outfit Middlesbrough in the coming days.

Bunn was a free agent following his release from Norwich after his contract expired at the end of last month. Reports suggest that he was close to signing for Bristol City after he held talks with the club and underwent a medical.

However, following the late interest from the Midlands side at the 11th hour, Bunn did a U-turn on the move to Ashton Gate in favour of potential Premier League games.

Bunn will most likely challenge USA international Brad Guzan for the number one jersey and will also compete with former team mate Jed Steer, who was signed by Paul Lambert from Norwich City last summer.

Bristol City fans, what do you make of this news? Are you angry at the fact that Bunn has gone through all the formalities and then turned his back on the club? Or do you think he is right to aim for bigger things? Let us know in the comments section below this article!
