Aston Villa legend Paul McGrath has issued a message of support to everyone connected with the club as they gear up for their huge play-off final against Fulham on Saturday.

Steve Bruce's men are set to take on the Cottagers in the richest game in world football with promotion to the Premier League on the line.

Despite the inevitable nerves that come ahead of such a game, former defender McGrath, referred to as 'God' by fans, took to twitter to reveal how much he loves the club as well as stating that 'Saturday is ours'.

McGrath played over 250 games for Villa and won two League Cup's with the West Midlands side in the 90s. As well as that, McGrath is a favourite at Manchester United and a hero to Ireland fans for his performances over the years.

And, that affection for Villa is clearly still there and he will be cheering them on as they look to beat Fulham.

It will be a tough encounter for Bruce's side as Fulham finished above them in the Championship table and head into the game as slight favourites.

The Verdict

Villa fans will be delighted to see how much the club means to McGrath and he, like the rest of them, will be desperate for a win on Saturday.

It's a massive game for the club and one that will have a serious impact on their future and it's all about winning.

Now, it's down to the players to put in a performance on the big stage.
