Aston Villa snatched a late, late draw with with Sheffield United last night, coming back from three down to grab a share of the spoils.

Three goals in the final ten minutes of play made sure it was stunning finish to the game at Villa Park, and the injury time equaliser from young forward Andre Green was the final nail in the coffin for the Blades, who must have thought they had the game won following Billy Sharp's hat-trick.

And Green, who recently returned to the club following a spell with Portsmouth down in League One, told the Birmingham Mail he was delighted to be back with his parent club.

“It’s a big thing for me and my family a proud moment and an unbelievable feeling. It was great because it was a header, I stayed calm and have been trying to work on that." Green said.

“It was a weird one, nobody was celebrating but nobody was disappointed. We will aim to get things right now.

“I am happy to be back at my boyhood club.” he added.

The result keeps Villa firmly in the hunt for a top six spot and a good run of form could see them make a late charge at the play-off picture, with Dean Smith hoping his team can be the club who emerge from nowhere to challenge for promotion.

Goals from Tammy Abraham and debutant Tyrone Mings had preceded the equaliser from Green, and the youngster will no doubt be keen to push on now and stake a claim for a regular spot in the starting XI.

The Verdict

Wow, what a game it was at Villa Park for the neutral fan.

Green's equaliser was the most unlikeliest of point snatchers for Villa, and Chris Wilder will be bitterly disappointed with his Blades side in the final minutes.

For Green personally, he will hope this is a catalyst to improvement and more minutes for his beloved Villa.
