Aston Villa have watched Peterborough United winger Marcus Maddison in action, according to Posh chairman Darragh MacAnthony via the Birmingham Mail
The 23 year-old has been in fine form for the Cambridgeshire side, netting 24 times in 89 games for the Posh, however it is his numerous amount of assists that has got the likes of Villa vying for his signature.
Villa have been tracking many left-footed wingers of late, with Stewart Downing, Robbie Brady and Jeffrey Schlupp all on Steve Bruce’s radar, however Maddison, who can also operate as a left-back or attacking midfielder, looks to be the most viable target.
When questioned about Maddison’s link with the Midlands club on Twitter, MacAnthony responded with “No idea Buddy. Brian Little did come to watch him few times me thinks couple months ago.”
Peterborough will obviously hold out for a decent enough fee, however a club like Villa can definitely lure him away from the ABAX Stadium.
