Aston Villa striker Jerell Sellars has confirmed on his personal Twitter account that he will be leaving the club this summer.

Sellars' contract was due to expire at the end of this campaign and it appears that he will not be offered fresh terms.

The young striker joined Aston Villa's academy in 2012 after moving from Lincoln City but he has never played a senior game for the Villains.

His only taste of professional football came last summer, when he played 8 games on loan at Wycombe Wanderers, including 5 starts.

However, the 21-year-old returned to Aston Villa without scoring a goal for the League Two side.

In his heartfelt Twitter message, Sellars admitted that it was an "emotional day" for him as he was leaving Aston Villa.

The speedy young striker added that "things never really worked out here" and "love to everybody that supports/believes in me".

Sellars will be available on a free transfer for other clubs this summer.
