Aston Villa fans have every reason to be waking up with a smile on their faces, after earning the bragging rights after beating local rivals, Birmingham City on Sunday.

The win saw Villa move up to 8th in the table, and more importantly they are just four points adrift of a play-off place heading into their game against Nottingham Forest on Wednesday.

Villa ran out 4-2 winners thanks to goals from Tammy Abraham, Jack Grealish, Jonathan Kodjia and Alan Hutton, and it was Hutton that made the headlines.

The right-back netted only his second Villa Park goal, and it was certainly one to remember.

Hutton beat a number of Birmingham players after running from his own half, before finishing in clinical fashion to put the icing on the cake on a day where the 'feel good factor' was restored at Villa Park.

The 33-year-old has been labelled the 'Scottish Cafu', and he certainly justified that name by scoring one arguably, one of the most memorable goals in front of the Holte End.

Hutton's goal has prompted some fans to edit the famous Brazilian's wikipedia page and branded him the 'Brazilian Alan Hutton' and it's fair to say that it went down well with the Villa faithful.

The full-back has only scored three goals in total for Villa across an eight-year-spell with the club, but having netted his second goal of this season, he will be keen to add to that with over half of the season still to play.

The Verdict:

You couldn't have asked for a better derby day for Aston Villa supporters.

To top off, what was already a memorable afternoon, Alan Hutton scoring in front of the Holte End is something that will stick in Villa fans' memory for a long time.

He perhaps doesn't get forward as much as you would have hoped for in a full-back, but when he does, he certainly makes it count.

It was a quite extraordinary goal from the Scottish international and he will be keen to retain his place in Dean Smith's side for the rest of the season as they battle for promotion back to the Premier League.
