Aston Villa's season is not yet over but looks well set to fade away into disappointment once again despite plenty of pre-season hype.

Dean Smith's troops now sit in tenth place with 33 matches played, nine points behind Bristol City who currently sit in sixth and also have two games in hand on Villa, giving them an almighty battle to achieve promotion.

In the summer, the likes of Anwar El Ghazi, Yannick Bolasie and Orjan Nyland all arrived to much fanfare but all have disappointed in some way or another.

Bolasie in particular. Fans will have known the risks with the others, but the Everton loanee was supposed to be a guaranteed success in the Championship, but ultimately did not impress, cancelling his own deal in January amid a sour atmosphere.

But, when Soccer AM asked who the best player in the Bolasie was very quick to reply with the answer Jack Grealish, and Grealish was quick to respond.

It was slightly surprising given the Congolese winger's time with the club.

But how should the fans be feeling about the exchange?

Confusion should be the overriding feeling, I think. Here we have a player in Bolasie, who arrived at the club, put very little effort in and then sauntered off in January, now suddenly he is praising the club? Or, at least its best player.

Oh, how they would have loved to have seen more of this team spirit from Bolasie during his time with the club.
