After the weekend's results it looks as though Aston Villa are going to have to settle for a play-off spot.

Of course, Cardiff could lose their game in hand but with a few games to go, the top two's form in mind and the points gap to them far from small, it could be a better bet for Villa to try and rest players ahead of those final games.

It remains to be seen what Steve Bruce does, then, but at least they are in much better shape than Birmingham who remain in a relegation fight despite their weekend win.

In a twist to our Terrace Chat feature, then, we've asked Villa fans to issue a verdict on whether they think the Blues will stay up.

Here's what was said:

Michael, 22, Solihull

I think they will - annoyingly!

It would be funny to see them drop but I think, being honest, they've got a squad better than where they have been playing all season in the table.

I was a bit sad Steve Cotterill left for obvious reasons and I think Monk will get them safe.

Steven, 27, Birmingham

A lot of my Birmingham supporting mates have been in my ear recently saying they'll be fine and I have to say that I agree with them.

I think we saw at the weekend they've got better firepower than the likes of Burton, Reading and Barnsley and so they should stay up.

Mary, 33, Birmingham

I still think they'll go down!

Perhaps I'm more thinking about what I'd like to see happen rather than what I expect to see happen but I only think Sunderland and Burton are worse off than them.

They've got decent players but Bolton have more grit, Hull should be okay and surely Reading will pick up eventually.

It's them or Barnsley and I think the Blues will drop.

Marlon, 19, Stourbridge

They'll just about do it.

I think Garry Monk is a good manager and he'll keep them up before having a better season next year.

Meanwhile, I reckon we'll be on our way to the Premier League this season so I think we're still going to be able to look down on them as per!
