Aston Villa and Steve Bruce are looking to bring in a new defender, and could make a move for either Robert Huth or James Collins.

Both experienced defenders are out of contract at the moment and without a club, and according to the Birmingham Mail, Villa could well be interested in making a move for one of the experienced pair.

Collins has already had a spell with Villa earlier in his career, where he performed well in a three-year spell with the club, and having been released by West Ham in the summer, he could well be keen on making a move back to his former club.

Meanwhile, Premier League winning defender Huth has been without a club but has been training with former club Stoke City to keep up his fitness, and could well be open to a move to Villa Park.

Villa are desperate for a new defender after failing to re-sign former Chelsea skipper John Terry following his release at the end of last term, while they have also allowed Tommy Elphick to make a move to Hull City, leaving their defensive options looking rather short.

Manager Steve Bruce saw his side hammered by Sheffield United last weekend, increasing the calls for the club to bring in a new central defender.

Villa fans, what do you think? Would you take Huth or Collins? Let us know in the comments!
