Aston Villa are said to have expressed an interest in signing, Swansea City striker, Andre Ayew according to Football Ghana.

The forward spent last season out on loan with Turkish giants, Fenerbahce, where he made 29 league appearances, whilst scoring five goals in his time with the club.

Swansea are believed to be keen to offload Ayew, as they look to trim the wage bill at the club as they prepare for another season in the Championship.

The Swans have already offloaded a number of their high-earners this season, with the likes of Wilfried Bony and Leroy Fer being some of the players to leave the club.

It will come as no surprise to see Aston Villa looking to sign a striker in the transfer window this summer, as they lack depth and quality in that area.

Tammy Abraham was in impressive form for Dean Smith's side last season, scoring 26 league goals, before returning to parent club, Chelsea.

Villa will need to fill the void left by Abraham, otherwise they will struggle for goals back in the Premier League after winning promotion at Wembley in the Play-Off Final.

The Verdict:

This would be a good signing by the Villans.

They need to add depth to attacking areas ahead of next season, otherwise they are really going to struggle to stay afloat in the Premier League.

Ayew is an experienced striker who will feel as though he has unfinished business in England's top-flight so it makes sense for Villa to sign him.
