Aston Villa currently sit 14th in the Sky Bet Championship after what has been a frustrating start to the season for Villa and their fans.

Steve Bruce is widely seen as the 'go to guy' if you are looking for promotion from the Championship, so when Villa were without a manager, there was only going to be one man for the job.

Aston Villa invested heavily over the summer, signing some top quality players for Championship level as well as taking players from Premier League teams, which really highlights the stature of Aston Villa as a club.

Villa will be looking for an immediate return to the Premier League and look to be hitting a good run of form under Bruce, they have won 2 of their last 3 games including a win away at Reading, which broke Villa's away day hoodoo, that had haunted them for over 400 days.

Here, are THREE reasons why Aston Villa will get promoted this season...

Steve Bruce

Bruce has the experience of gaining promotion that will be crucial in the promotion push for Villa.

He has four promotions on his record already and will be looking for a fifth this season.

Bruce knows what it takes to win games and gain promotion in this division, something not many other managers in the league have.

He plays a style of football that allows his attacking players to be creative and sets up to be solid at the back, this is why you see Bruce's teams win so many games.

His experience compared to other managers will play a key role in deciding who takes the three spots in next season's Premier League, and his knowhow should make sure Villa claim one of those places

Strength in depth

You only need to look at the players on Villa's bench to see the strength in depth they have.

Their squad is one of the best in the league and this could be a deciding factor when it comes to deciding promotion.

Last Saturday, Villa had summer signings, Ross McCormack and Albert Adomah on the bench, two players who would get into the majority of Championship teams.

If Villa happen to pick up injuries over the season, Bruce won't be concerned about who he will put on in place of the injured players.

This gives Villa the edge over some of their promotion rivals, with Brighton and Norwich in particularly, with them not having the same quality on their bench, and should an injury crisis hit them, they would be struggling for quality.

Strikers

Villa possess some of the best strikers in the league and they are likely to score plenty of goals for them this season.

Summer recruits, Ross McCormack and Jonathan Kodjia are supporting Rudy Gestede, in what is a potent front three at Championship level.

All three are capable of scoring a goal out of nothing, something that is key in the Championship.

If Steve Bruce can find a partnership that works upfront then he could see his Villa team shoot up the table.

McCormack and Kodjia notched up 40 goals between them last season whilst playing at Fulham and Bristol City, but both are yet to really hit top gear at Villa Park.

However, under Bruce, Kodjia looks to have found hit feet a bit, scoring 3 in 3 under the new boss.
