Greek side Olympiacos are close to sealing a loan move for Aston Villa defender Aly Cissokho, according to The Birmingham Mail.
The left back has lost his place to Jordan Amavi since Steve Bruce took over at Villa Park and he is set to leave on loan with a view to a permanent deal.
The Birmingham Mail understands that this deal will be completed within the next 24 hours after Olympiacos held talks with Cissokho’s representatives.
The 29-year-old joined Aston Villa from Valencia in 2014 after a loan spell with Liverpool.
The Frenchman has played over 50 times for the Villains but has never really had a lengthy run in the side.
Aston Villa could target Robbie Brady as Cissokho’s replacement.
The versatile Norwich man is in-demand as he can play at left back, on the wing or as a central midfielder.
Olympiacos are looking to plug a gap at left back after Arthur Masuaku joined West Ham in the summer.
