Both Alan Hutton and Axel Tuanzebe will miss Aston Villa’s clash with Queens Park Rangers in the Sky Bet Championship tomorrow, with the duo struggling with hamstring injuries.

Confirmation has come from Villa’s official Twitter account (@AVFCOfficial) that Hutton and Tuanzebe will be absent, leaving Steve Bruce short of defensive options ahead of QPR’s visit.

Hutton has featured at left-back for Villa during their best run of form this season, with the Scottish defender keeping Neil Taylor out of the starting XI.

However, the 33-year-old was forced from the field in the 51st minute of last weekend’s 4-2 victory over Sheffield Wednesday, with Taylor replacing him at left-back.

Hutton will miss this weekend’s clash with QPR due to hamstring troubles, and will be joined on the sidelines by Tuanzebe, who has a similar problem.

The on-loan Manchester United man was not involved at Hillsborough last weekend, but had started the fixtures at Fulham and Preston North End earlier in February.

Whilst Bruce will be without that duo, he will welcome back Albert Adomah against QPR, whilst Jack Grealish is also edging closer to a return and could feature in the midweek trip to Sunderland.

The Verdict

Bruce has had to deal with a number of injury problems in recent weeks, and losing Hutton and Tuanzebe is another huge blow for Villa.

Hutton in particular has been huge for Villa in recent weeks, and losing him will frustrate Bruce.

Luckily, a player of Taylor’s quality can step in to replace the Scot.
