Aston Villa crock a shock target for new Premier League boss

According to talkSPORT, Southampton are lining up a shock move for Aston Villa left-back Jordan Amavi this summer.

After the resignation of Southampton boss Ronald Koeman, they appointed a new manager to the scene – Claude Puel.

The former Nice manager boasts a vast knowledge of French football, and worked with the defender during his time in charge of former club OGC Nice.

The 22-year-old enjoyed a bright start to life in English football, by featuring in a 1-0 win on his debut for Villa.

He managed to make a further 11 appearances for the fallen Midlands giants, however shortly after, suffered a major injury in a France under-21’s game, which restricted his playing time for the whole season.

Sadly, with Villa now in the Championship, the highly rated Frenchman could well be on the move to the South Coast.

Villa fans…. What do you make of this news? Would you be gutted to see Amavi leave your club next season?
