According to a report by German media outlet Bild, Anton Donkor is set to leave VfL Wolfsburg and could join Aston Villa.

The 19-year-old has been told that he is unlikely to break into the first team at Wolfsburg and a departure is imminent.

HITC Sport are reporting that Donkor is set to train with Aston Villa this week ahead of a move to the Championship club.

Donkor would become Aston Villa’s second summer signing after they secured the loan signing of Sam Johnstone from Manchester City.

The teenager is a winger who is capable of playing on both flanks.

The Germany under-20 international has been playing for Wolfsburg’s second team, who play in the lower leagues in Germany.

He is set to depart without making his Wolfsburg debut.

Donkor would probably start off in Aston Villa’s development team with a view to becoming a first teamer in the future.
