Aston Villa are close to agreeing a deal with Sevilla, which will see Jordan Amavi leave Villa Park for £8m, reports the Daily Mail.

The La Liga outfit are interested in the left-back and have had a £5.2m bid rejected by Villa already this summer.

However, Sevilla look set to secure a £6.2m deal with Villa, which could rise to £8m, through another £1.2m in add-ons.

Amavi arrived at Villa from Nice for a reported £9m, but was part of the Villa squad that suffered relegation from the Premier League during the 2015/16 campaign.

The 23-year old made 34 appearances in the Sky Bet Championship last season, with 26 of those coming in the starting XI for Villa.

However, Steve Bruce, Villa’s manager, opted to bring Neil Taylor to Villa Park during the January transfer window, which limited Amavi’s opportunities in his favoured left-back spot.

During the second-half of the season, Amavi found himself in a more advanced role, when handed an opportunity by Bruce.

Villa are reportedly working on a tight budget this summer, with Bruce told he must offload some of the club’s fringe players before he can make any significant changes to his playing squad.
