Aston Villa’s CEO Keith Wyness has confirmed Ross McCormack could still have a future at Villa Park, but insists Steve Bruce will make any decision, reports Sky Sports News’ Rob Dorsett.

McCormack was a high-profile transfer to Villa last summer, when he signed for £12m from Fulham.

However, the Scottish international failed to impress during the first-half of the campaign, and following a public fall out with Bruce, was shipped out to Nottingham Forest on-loan in January.

The 30-year old has been given hope of a future at Villa Park, but Wyness insists he must return in the “right emotional state.”

McCormack has a wealth of experience in the Sky Bet Championship, scoring over 100 goals during spells with Cardiff City, Leeds United and Fulham.

This season McCormack has struggled, scoring just four goals during his spells with Villa and Forest.

Villa brought in Scott Hogan during the January transfer window, to add competition for places alongside top scorer Jonathan Kodjia, casting serious doubt over McCormack’s long-term future at the club.
