Aston Villa can’t be complacent, but this factor should help seal them a win against Bolton

The Championship is back this weekend and Aston Villa will be looking to continue their unbeaten run against a Bolton side still yet to win a game in the second tier this season.

The men from Villa Park have recovered from a slow start to the campaign this year and are now just three points off of the top six as we head into this latest round of fixtures.

The Trotters, meanwhile, prop up the league table with just two points to their name and – considering some of transfermarkt’s numbers – that total is unlikely to increase.

Indeed, the most eye-catching stat of all going into this game is that Steve Bruce has won 14 of his 22 games against the Trotters when he has been in charge as a manager of an opposing side.

And that, rather impressively, gives him a points per game stat of two against the men from the Macron Stadium across his career.

For sure, then, that might suggest that Villa are on for another good result this weekend with them finally looking like the side that many were expecting to see at the start of the campaign.
