Popular statistic website, WhoScored.com, have revealed the Sky Bet Championship's Team of the Season based on player ratings across the campaign.

The alternative team only includes players who have played more than 15 games in the Championship, and throws up a number of different faces compared to the official selection.

Only Anthony Knockaert, Lewis Dunk and Pontus Jansson remain from the official Team of the Season, with surprising selections across the 11.

Ali Al-Habsi is named as the team’s goalkeeper, behind a back four that has Derby County’s Cyrus Christie and Barnsley’s Andy Yiadom as full-backs, alongside Dunk and Jansson.

Knockaert takes one midfield place, alongside Fulham’s Tom Cairney and Newcastle United’s Matt Ritchie- two players who were deemed unlucky to miss out on official selection.

The surprising inclusion is Aston Villa’s Conor Hourihane, who made the switch to Villa Park from Barnsley during the January transfer window.

In attack there is no place for the Championship’s four top scorers, Chris Wood, Dwight Gayle, Tammy Abraham and Glenn Murray. WhoScored reveal Villa’s Jonathan Kodjia and Reading’s Yann Kermorgant have the best average rating across the 2016/17 campaign.
