Aston Villa could be forced to wait in their pursuit of Chelsea forward Tammy Abraham.

According to Alan Nixon, there is 'no idea' on the future of the young England striker, with Nixon stating that 'one week available, one week not', suggesting Chelsea are still in limbo about letting their young forward leave once more on loan.

The 20-year-old spent last season on loan in the Premier League with Swansea City but struggled to shine as he had done previously at Bristol City, and is currently back at Stamford Bridge awaiting his next move.

Steve Bruce and Aston Villa are known admirers of the forward, and are keen to snap up the Chelsea man on a loan deal, however, news of the Blues' uncertainty around a deal will worry Bruce, who had been hoping to bring in the youngster in the coming days.

Abraham does not seem to have a chance of breaching the first team under new Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri, as Alvaro Morata continues to be given a run in the team, while Olivier Giroud will also return to the fold shortly.

Villa have had an excellent start to the Championship season but will see Abraham as the final piece in the jigsaw as they look to win back their place in the top flight.
