The former Manchester United, Middlesbrough and Wigan Athletic goalkeeper is a target for Bruce’s side as he eyes a reunion with his former staff member in the North East, but he faces a stern test to persuade the former England U-21 international to move to the Midlands.
Hull are negotiating a new contract for Walsh, which a throws a spanner into the works for Steve Bruce’s plans, and Walsh may elect to stay with the top-flight club instead of dropping down into the second-division of English football.
Bruce will hope that his working relationship with Walsh can persuade the coach to a change of scenery and his plans may be aided by Hull’s poor form in the Premier League this season, as the Tigers are winless since August after a blistering start to life back in the top-flight.

Villa, meanwhile, have risen up the Championship standings following two consecutive victories over Reading and Fulham and now occupy 16th spot in the table, putting them six points off the play-off positions.
