Queens Park Rangers midfielder Massimo Luongo is on the radar of Aston Villa and Crystal Palace ahead of the summer transfer window, according to the print edition of the Daily Mirror via the Sky Sports News Paper Talk page.

Luongo has impressed for QPR this season and is being monitored by Aston Villa and Crystal Palace at the moment.

The 25-year-old joined QPR from Swindon Town in 2015 and has since made over 100 appearances for the West London outfit.

Luongo previously played over 100 games for Swindon too.

The 34-cap Australia international plays as a central midfielder and is known for providing a creative spark in the QPR midfield.

This has not gone unnoticed as clubs have scouted him and he could be the subject of some transfer bids this summer.

He has a contract which runs until the summer of 2020 but that might not deter Aston Villa and Crystal Palace from making a move for him if they believe he is worth the money after scouting him.

The former Tottenham academy graduate will then have to make a big decision on his future, especially if Aston Villa win promotion and he has two Premier League clubs chasing his signature.

The Verdict

Luongo is a talented midfielder but whether he could make the step up to the Premier League and impress just yet remains to be seen. The 25-year-old would certainly add something to Aston Villa's options in the Championship but if they go up, there could be better options out there. And that will be music to QPR fans' ears as they desperately try to keep the Australian international.
