Aston Villa are thought to be tracking versatile defender Tom James of Yeovil Town but it seems as though they have company – as per West London Sport.
The 21-year-old has made 46 appearances so far this season in all competitions for the Glovers with him primarily plying his trade as a right back this year.
However, he can also play as a centre-half or, indeed, a left-back and so it’s clear that if a side does decide to sign him they’ll be getting someone who can offer them a number of options.
For Villa to try and get him, though, they’ll have to ward off interest from both Swansea and Bournemouth in the Premier League and fellow Championship side Brentford.
Villa have had a few issues at full-back this season – particularly at left-back – and so maybe a position change for James could be on the menu if he were to head to Villa Park.
Geographically wise, it’s clear that Bournemouth would be the best side for James to move to from Yeovil Town.
However, he more needs to think about where he is going to play more – if he does even move – and Villa, or Brentford, might be able to offer him that more.
If Villa go up, though, that could be put slightly in doubt.
