Albert Adomah has piled the praise on Jack Grealish, highlighting the youngster’s impact in Aston Villa’s surge towards automatic promotion in the Sky Bet Championship.

Speaking to the BBC, Adomah has praised his teammate for the impact he has had since his return from injury.

Grealish missed an early stage of the season through a freak pre-season injury, but has returned to the first-team with great success, helping Villa up to second in the Championship table and into pole position to go on and secure the second automatic promotion place.

Adomah said: “Since Jack came back in, he's been immense.

"Even if he doesn't score, he produces magic. He creates things from nowhere."

Both Grealish and Adomah played a crucial role in Sunday’s 2-0 victory over Birmingham City in the Second City derby, with Grealish’s perfect pass allowing Adomah to fire Steve Bruce’s side into a second-half lead.

Conor Hourihane’s strike wrapped up the three points for Villa, who have now won seven consecutive Championship fixtures, which has moved them into second.

Bruce’s side might be knocked out of second this evening depending on results elsewhere, but will have the opportunity to showcase their promotion credentials at the weekend when they face Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Grealish will be in-line for his seventh consecutive Championship start at the weekend.

The Verdict

Villa’s improved form has certainly run a parallel to Grealish’s return, which deserves to be highlighted by his teammates.

Grealish is an exceptionally talented player, who in recent weeks is beginning to show the type of form that made him a firm fan favourite at Villa Park when he first broke onto the scene.

Villa are in a great position, and if Grealish can keep up his current form, he will be key to the club’s chance of promotion from the Championship.
