Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish has praised the club’s 2-0 victory against Rotherham United last night, with the midfielder also moving to congratulate Tammy Abraham and Yannick Bolasie on their goals.

It’s been a tough run for results for Steve Bruce, with pressure growing on the Villa boss.

Prior to last night’s victory over Rotherham, Villa hadn’t won since August 11, leaving them in mid-table.

However, goals from Abraham and Bolasie last night sunk Rotherham and helped to move Villa back into the top-six of the Championship – although that could change depending on results tonight.

Grealish, 23, has now taken to his personal Twitter account to deliver a message, congratulating his teammates and looking ahead to Saturday:

So far this season, Villa have three victories to their name, with Bruce’s side looking to add to that and put together another good run of results.

Villa welcome Sheffield Wednesday to Villa Park on Saturday, with Jos Luhukay’s side having a short turnaround.

The Owls head to Nottingham Forest this evening, with the South Yorkshire outfit looking to extend a promising unbeaten run in the East Midlands.

The Verdict

Grealish, like all those passionate about Villa, will have been boosted by last night’s result.

It has been a difficult spell for Villa, with the pressure mounting on Steve Bruce.

However, last night’s victory should have given Villa a boost.
