Middlesbrough will be looking to pull of a cup upset in the third round of the FA Cup, when they take on Tottenham Hotspur in their replay on Tuesday evening.

Boro earned a replay after holding Spurs to a 1-1 draw at the Riverside earlier this season, where Lucas Moura cancelled out Ashley Fletcher's second-half strike.

Fletcher took to Instagram ahead of the game, and was evidently looking forward to taking on Jose Mourinho's side for a second time.

Fletcher has been in impressive form in recent weeks, and currently has eight goals to his name in all competitions so far this season for Jonathan Woodgate's side.

Boro have shown remarkable improvement in that time as well, and are now sat 16th in the Championship table as they look to keep the momentum going.

Middlesbrough are only eight points adrift of the play-off places as well, so a possible top-six finish certainly shouldn't be ruled out of the equation by any stretch of the imagination.

The FA Cup clash on Tuesday against Spurs will be a game where they're outsiders, which might suit Jonathan Woodgate's men as they look to pull off an unlikely upset.

The Verdict:

He'll be keen to get on the scoresheet once again.

Fletcher has really impressed me in recent weeks, and he showed a 'cool head' to give Middlesbrough the lead in their third round clash against Spurs.

If he can continue to build on these impressive showings, then Middlesbrough could well surprise a few this season, starting with a potential upset against Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday evening.
