With just four games left to play this season, Sheffield United will be desperate to get back to winning ways over a hectic Easter period.

The Blades' bid for automatic promotion took a monumental blow at the weekend, as they dropped points at home to Millwall with a last-gasp Jake Cooper header, with rivals Leeds United then making them pay later on with a 1-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday.

Despite defeating the Whites at Elland Road last month, the Blades' chances of a top-two finish are now hanging by a thread, especially with the news that Billy Sharp and Chris Basham are set to miss the upcoming clash with Nottingham Forest this Friday, at the very least.

The pair with taken off against the Lions last Saturday, and Basham's defensive partner John Egan will also miss the next three games with suspension after deliberate handball.

This may well force Wilder into changing his system, going from his trusted three-man defence into a two-man defence with a shortage of defenders for the upcoming games.

But this could well prove to be disastrous for United, who desperately need to pick up three points in each of their last four games if they are going to stand a chance of winning promotion to the Premier League automatically.

Wilder has deployed a 3-5-2 system all season long - it's a system that the players were very familiar with and it definitely gets the best out of them.

But reverting to another formation at this particular stage of the season could be detrimental for their automatic promotion hopes, as it is bound to disrupt preparation for the upcoming matches and potentially ruin team cohesion.

Every single player knows their role in the 3-5-2 formation, but can this be said for them if they change to a 4-2-3-1 this weekend, for instance?

Martin Cranie is more than capable of stepping up to the plate this weekend, whilst the likes of Richard Stearman or even Kean Bryan will be desperate to make an impact and prove a point to Chris Wilder.
